I can totally relate to this assignment. The overwhelming shortage of staff at my work place makes this problem such a day to day reality. It is sad to go into work thinking a god day will be 8 patients and not following a particular nurse who does not complete or follow through with their assignments leaving it up to night-shift to handle. Everyone I work with has burnout, high stress and frustration because of the lack of staff and feeling of we do not matter. My organization is and has lost several excellent nurses; it seems they do not care and they do nothing to fight to keep them.
